The Los Angeles Rifle and Revolver Junior Club exists to teach basic marksmanship and safety firearms handling to our country?s youth. The program is geared towards men and women ages 10 to 21 regardless of their shooting experience. All participants in the program are given classroom instruction in safe firearms handling before heading to the range for personalized coaching. All equipment needed for beginning to intermediate shooters is provided by the club including .22 caliber target rifles and .177 caliber air rifles. Advanced shooters are encouraged to continue to receive coaching and shoot with the ?SureShots? Rifle Team but are encouraged to supply their own equipment. Members of this team have set and held numerous National and State Records in Smallbore competitive rifle shooting.
The LAR&R Junior Club is based at the Los Angeles Rifle and Revolver Club in S. El Monte, California. The senior club which operates the range hosts multiple State and Regional matches each year and is home to some of the finest Smallbore marksmen in the country. Members of the junior club have advanced to earn college scholarships and participate in world class competitions including the Olympic Games.
Adult and junior members of the club also participate in community service by providing firearms safety education and basic marksmanship training to local approved youth schools and organizations.
